Moody Mauve

STARTING CANVAS

ROOTS: Level 2
MIDS: Level 7
ENDS: Level 8
GOAL: All over level 9-10

PRE-LIGHTENING

Create a profile section and a radial section. After creating four sections, take horizontal subsections and take thin slice sections using #BlondeAF with 30 volume 1:1 ratio for a thicker consistency. The amount of subsections would be dependent on the density of the hair. Process up to 40-45 minutes or until you reach the desired level. Rinse lightener and shampoo after desired level is reached.

TONING

After shampooing, blow dry the hair. Take a section from the frontal bone to low recession of the hair. The front section will be secured away. Tone the back section with High Speed Toner Dirty Pink with 6 volume in a ratio of 1:2; rinse after 20 minutes. To tone the front section, use High Speed Toner Dirty Pink with 6 volume in a ratio of 1:3; rinse after 10 minutes. Shampoo and condition then begin to blow dry.

FINISHING TOUCHES

After blow drying the hair, take a profile and radial section separating the hair into four quadrants. Using a 1-inch flat iron, take small horizontal subsections and go over the hair to create a smooth finish. Finish flat ironing the hair and then take a texture spray and spray it throughout the hair. Take wax and apply on random sections to create a piecey, textured look. Finish with a medium hold hairspray.

Grungy Curls

STARTING CANVAS

ROOTS: Level 2
MIDS: Level 5
ENDS: Level 7
GOAL: All over level 7-8

PRE-LIGHTENING

Create a profile section and a radial section. After creating four sections, take horizontal subsections and take thin slice sections using #BlondeAF with 30 volume 1:1 ratio for a thicker consistency. The amount of subsections would be dependent on the density of the hair. Process up to 40-45 minutes or until you reach the desired level. Rinse lightener and shampoo after desired level is reached.

TONING

After shampooing, blow dry the hair. Use alternating sections and apply High Speed Toner Lilac Chill and Dirty Pink with 6 volume in a ratio of 1:2 for 20 minutes. The alternating sections will create an iridescent effect. Rinse out both toners then blow dry the hair. *Apply High Speed Toner Dirty Pink a second time all over for a deeper result.

FINISHING TOUCHES

Fingercoil the hair in opposite directions to create separation with curl defining product. Diffuse on cool to maintain curl pattern without creating frizz. Mist with a very light hold hairspray. Use hair pick to create volume and separate the curls with fingers for added volume. Massage volume powder at roots; have client flip hair upside down and spray a medium hold hairspray to finish the look.
